My husband and I have planned a 3-night stay in the Lower Cape during the first week of May. Neither of us have ever been to P-Town so we would like to make a ';day trip'; to check it out. Our day trip to P-Town will be either Monday or Tuesday (yes, quiet days, I know!). Any recommendations on what we shouldn%26#39;t miss???? Thanks!
1st visit to P-Town ~ Suggestions Welcome!
Walking down Commercial Street in P-Town do not need any suggestions. ALL you need to be entertained is on this street. If you would like a nice lunch...check out Bubulas. For a nice cup/bowl of clam chowder or oysters...check out the Lobster Pot. For a nice dinner, The Mews...of course it%26#39;s a tradition for a slice of pizza at Spiritus. If you need to give your feets a break..grab an ice cream cone at Ben %26amp; Jerrys and sit in front of Town Hall and people watch. Go to provincetown.com and check out their live cam...For the best cup of coffee check out Joe%26#39;s coffee further down the west end of Commercial Street....I would definitely suggest to catch a show at nigth..some of the best shows are At the Crown %26amp; Anchor...if you get a chance to see ANY of Ms. Ridgefield%26#39;s show...STRONGLY suggest..she is hysterical! Have a GREAT time! ;)

In many ways, P%26#39;town is Key West North -- with beaches -- and to prove it, you%26#39;ll find the best key lime pie north of Islamorada, as well as a few artisans, artists and other shops that have twins in Key West. In the summer, they even gather to watch the sunset at Race Point or Herring Cove Beach.
As you drive toward Provincetown on Route 6, suddenly you%26#39;ll take a curve in the road and the incredible vista of Provincetown, with its Pilgrim Monument, will be spread out before you. It%26#39;s breathtaking, and you%26#39;ll instantly understand why you must not miss touching the dune-lined shores. If they%26#39;re being offered on the day that you%26#39;re there, take a dune buggy tour. Awesome.
Even though you%26#39;ll be going early early in the season, you must not pass up a stroll on Race Point Beach. Then, take the Province Lands Road (parallels the Atlantic Ocean) to Herring Cove Beach and swing back around to where the road meets the Provincetown Inn to view in the distance the Wood End Light, at Long Point, the last bit of land in Massachusetts, USA. (See a map of the Cape Cod National Seashore at www.nps.gov/caco)
Go to the Portuguese Bakery for lovely custard tarts and Malasadas. Try kale soup at Lobster Pot. Get some P Town Fudge ....have a blast...be a kid..eat, drink and make merry..
Thank you so much! It looks like we have plenty of options while in town!!!
If you can spare the time I would definitely recommend a Whalewatch trip - have a look at the Doplphin Fleet-

If you%26#39;ve never been before, it will be an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it to anyone.
Also, take Art%26#39;s Dune tour, which will take you to the Outer Beach, and you will see the dune shacks, still lived in, from the days of Eugene O%26#39;Neill, and the artist s of the 20%26#39;s and 30%26#39;s. It%26#39;s a wonderful experience!
Ther Lobster Part was featured in this month%26#39;s Coastal Living, as one of the 25 best dives for seafood- but there are other wonderul restaurants. If in Wellfleet, do try the Wicked Oyster- and spend some time in the art galleries.
Here%26#39;s a link to one of our webcams - its on commercial street, and you can keep an eye on the weather from afar

I wrote a reply to another Ptown question and discovered that the Lands End Inn web site has an excellent summary of what to do and see in Ptown. I know you won%26#39;t be staying there, but go to www.landsendinn.com and click on the Recreation and Activities link. There are a couple of outdated things there, but overall it is very good.
Too bad Randy Roberts doesn%26#39;t start @ Crown %26amp; Anchor %26#39;til Mem. Day weekend. What a great show!!! My husband and I saw him perform last Mem Day weekend when we went away (without the kids that trip).
Cashetta doesn%26#39;t start %26#39;til Mem Day weekend either. I have a great pic of my husband w/ Cashetta :-)

Have dinner at Ross%26#39; Grille! It%26#39;s the best in town!
