Walking the freedom trail with kids....

Is the freedom trail doable with children? We will have a 1 year old and a five year old with a stroller. Where is a good place to park if we decide to walk the trail?

Thanks for any input-

Park in the Boston Common Underground Garage. The ';official'; starting point of the the Freedom Trail is on the other side of the Common at the information booth, where you can get maps, write-ups, etc. Also in the common is a ';froggy'; playground, really cute. And across the street near the garage entrance are the Swan Boats and the statues of the ';Make Way for Ducklings'; gang. You can feed the ducks and the squirrels there (shhh!).

Just plan small bites, as much as the kids can handle at one time. Maybe you%26#39;ll want to detour to the Aquarium for a while.

The trail is do-able for children, however at their ages I highly doubt they will be in the least interested. The Freedom Trail is an urban walking tour which recounts and highlights historical events in early American history. As such, the trail shares space with the regular sidewalk traffic and that means being jostled and bombarded by city traffic and noises.

As noted, the Boston Common Garage is the best location. The Visitors Pavilion will have information and maps and the US Park Service rangers are helpful.
