This is to everybody who has given me advice.
My wife and i have just returned after spending 5 days at the Lenox Hotel.
We had a great time despite the weather ( literally four seasons in one day ), thankyou to the Lenox for the complimentary umbrellas.
The Public Library was a joy ( John Adams Exhibition is a must ), Trinity Church was lovely, well worth the $5 dollar self guided tour.
Harvard was beautiful, and thanks to the very helpful official at Park St T subway station for explaining to four helpless tourists how to buy a ticket and , also for saving us some money after producing a '; Charlie Card '; from her pocket and giving it to us, ( much more helpful than the miserable staff on London Underground ).
The service we received in the restaurants was first class, Stephanie%26#39;s on Newbury is a must and Legal sea Foods was excellent, the portions in Vinny T%26#39;s were a challenge, and the clam chowda, scallops and swordfish in Quincy Market were delicious at Lunch, all washed down with with plenty of Sam Adam%26#39;s, we also experienced our first Canoli ( heavenly ).
Plenty of shopping as well, we will be returning next year but will need to come for 7 days.
One last thing, we are considering renting an apartment next year, does anybody know of a good website to check these out ?
Once again thanks to the people of Boston and all the contributors on Tripadvisor.
Another fabulous Boston Experience !!
For short term vacation rentals try vrbo.com and homeaway.com. Most places are owned by individuals -- some better than others, but generally a great alternative to hotels. My single caution would be to find out exactly where the condo is located.
Another fabulous Boston Experience !!
Glad you enjoyed your stay and may your next one be just as grand.
Thanks for reporting...New England Weather....4 seasons in one day!
