We are traveling in July to the area. We have two young teenagers that like some independence so my question is, where is the best place to stay so they can hit shops, etc. without us being right there. We aren%26#39;t familiar with the East Coast at all. Is Nantucket better since it is a smaller Island? Can we ferry over to other places. We want a water view, this is a huge deal for us. We prefer a house or condo for space to stay the week. Any help would be appreciated.
Where to goYou%26#39;ll get lots of opinions on this board but since you are new to the Cape you might want to take a look at all your options for lodging, dining, entertainment, beaches and the like by reading THE guide book to see what appeals to YOU. Just $20 or less at Amazon. Drop a note if this interests you.
Where to goIf you%26#39;re asking about teenagers who aren%26#39;t of driving age, then you might want one of the bigger towns, like Hyannis or Falmouth. Falmouth in particular has a lot of larger homes near the water that are within walking distance of Downtown Falmouth where there are shops, restaurants, ice cream shops, and even a laundry. Is that the kind of environment you%26#39;re looking for??
In my opinion, Nantucket is better to go to than Martha%26#39;s Vineyard. The Vineyard gets totally, totally overrun during the summer. Hyannis is a good location for the beaches, the proximity to other towns. It%26#39;s a pretty good size and has a terminal that goes pretty reguarly to the islands. There%26#39;s a decent sized mall just outside it too and a strip of stores.
You will have options on ocean view accomodation too either in a guesthouse in Hyannisport or a hotel in Hyannis. The Hyannis Harbor Hotel is pretty cheap
If you%26#39;ve got young teenagers i would suggest hyannis. compared with a lot of the towns on cape cod, there is much for young people to do. you could spend hours on hyannis main street and still not get bored wheras a lot of the little towns, though they are very sweet, are quite boring.
Also cape cod mall is in hyannis and its great! im not sure but i dont think there are any other malls in cape cod....?? nice beaches, nice restaurants and it isnt THAT crowded at all!
Hi Swanney, I%26#39;m coming to Springfield for the first time ever on business this Monday. I%26#39;ll have a car. Is there anything you can recommend as to evening activities or dining. Anything Springfield is famous for?
