I purchased tickets to the Red Sox-Yankees game, is section 32 row 15 okay?
I want to stay somewhere nice in the Back Bay/Copley area. I was browsing Priceline, hotwire, and travelocity. Anyone have any success taking the priceline risks? Is the Marriot Copley place worth the $309 per night?
Thank you for all your help!
Are my Redsox seats OK? Plus Online Hotel BookingHi,
Those are good seats. They%26#39;re in the ';grandstand'; section. Seating at Fenway (with the exception of the luxury boxes, and the Monster seats) is either ';Box'; or Grandstand.'; Box seats are red, and they%26#39;re wider and closer to the field. Grandstand seats are wooden, narrow seats, but with sufficient elevation to compensate for a small level of discomfort. That being said, you%26#39;re seats are in the upper part of the Grandstand area with a nice view down the third base line. You%26#39;ll probably see a few foul balls fly your way as well.
Marriott Copley Place is a nice hotel, is it worth $309 a night? I can%26#39;t answer that accurately not knowing your financial situation, and specifically, your level of disposable income. Do I think it%26#39;s worth $309 a night? No. I feel that the Hotel Commonwealth is a newer and nicer hotel, and they%26#39;re right down the street from Fenway. Check them out. But Fewnay is so easily accessible by subway that it%26#39;s not necessary to stay within walking distance of the park. I%26#39;d focus on being walking distance to the T and then choose a hotel from there. Visit mbta.com for all subway and public transport info.
Finally, I%26#39;ve heard of some folks getting amazing deals on priceline, hotwire, etc. but I%26#39;m not one of them. It seems like the longer you wait before your departure date to book through them, the better chance that you%26#39;ll have some luck.
Are my Redsox seats OK? Plus Online Hotel BookingThank you very much, sounds like the seats are pretty good, they are marked family section, my wife and I would like to enjoy a beer or two, is this stricly forbidden? We%26#39;re not the people that the family section is targeting to keep distant from children so I figured that it%26#39;s safe to sip on a beer and enjoy the game... Plus we%26#39;re Redsox fans so we won%26#39;t have the ';pinstripe'; bullseye that some other visitors to the park that day will have. Am I correct in that assumption that it%26#39;s ok?
Hi,
Bad news. Section 32 and 33 are indeed ';alcohol-free.'; The security boys over there at Fenway are pretty good at there jobs so I wouldn%26#39;t try to sneak a beer or two past them. They do have a concourse outside on Yawkey Way that they open up a couple of hours before game time to have a few beers. And if you%26#39;re really thirsty just hop out of the seat for a half-inning and chug down a watered-down Bud Light. You%26#39;re actually better-off--the prices for beer (and other food) are astronomical. A Bud Light is $7 and a Sam Adams is $7.75. By my count, sitting in the Family Section just saved you and your wife $30!
As the previous poster noted, they are quite diligent about keeping alcohol out of the family sections. And since it is a Yankees game, security will be doubled in Fenway. Stick with soda and you%26#39;ll be fine. Chug some beers on the concourse if you really want a brew.
Thanks guys, I would%26#39;ve given it the old college try if I hadn%26#39;t posted here first, don%26#39;t want to cause any trouble. In philadelphia family section mentions no alcohol, but really it%26#39;s sole focus is shielding children from profanity, which by the way usually goes hand in hand with alcohol there. Oh well as long as you say the seats are solid I%26#39;m not complaining.
Tonight I%26#39;m booking everything soup to nuts (all I have is the tickets) for May 31 to June 3. Should I make dinner reservations at any of the better restaurants this early or am I safe until I get there?
Wish me luck, I think I%26#39;m going to take the priceline.com leap of faith!
