Central Hotel please

Hi

We (myself, husband and 11 year old son) will be visiting Boston for the first time in February, can anyone recommend a nice hotel within a nice central location please.

Also can anyone tell me what the weather should be like in Early Feb.

Thanks

Lee

Central Hotel please

Hi,

Do you have a budget in mind? Nice hotels in central Boston will cost you over $200/night at that time of year, unless you find a special deal.

The Omni Parker House seems to be running good specials lately, so you might start there. It%26#39;s a nice, very historic hotel, right in the center of the city, close to everything.

The Marriott Copley Place and Westin Copley Place would be good locations as well. There%26#39;s also a new Courtyard Marriott Copley Square, which is getting great reviews. It%26#39;s in an excellent location and would be a good choice.

All of these are listed here on TA, so check out the hotel listings for these and call around for rates, and once you%26#39;ve narrowed it down, we can give you some more ideas.

As for the weather in early Feb, it%26#39;s the coldest time of the winter, in fact. Bring warm clothing that can be layered. It can be warmish during the day, and get very cold at night (40F daytime, 20F nighttime) It can also be bitter cold (20F day, 0F nights), so be prepared. Check a weather forecast a few days before you leave.

Central Hotel please

Have a look at the Charlesmark. We stayed there last year in a superior queen room and it was fabulous. It is 2 mins from copely square and you get a free buffet breakfast (fruit, muffins bagels, tea and coffee).

HI,

try the Holiday inn Select--Government Center. They have been consistently under $200 a night, and they%26#39;re in an excellent location(it%26#39;s Beacon Hill, by the way--not Government Center! It seems the corporate boys over at H.I. have never visited Boston!!). Nonetheless, it%26#39;s close to many attractions, restaurants, and most importantly, the T (our subway). Have fun.

February is a great time for good hotel deals. This year in, February and March, The Omni Parker House was offering remarkably low rates through travelzoo.com. Their Deluxe rooms were $99, junior suites-$109 and one bedroom suites-$119. Although those rates aren`t posted or available now, I wouldn`t be surprised if they`d offer something similar in 2008. It could be worthwhile to book something cancellable now then see if these rates come available towards the end of this year. They were booked by calling Omni Hotels (800-THE-OMNI) or on line at omnihotels.com and asking for the omnizoo rate. This is Boston`s beautiful, historic, hotel with opulent public spaces and stellar service. It`s also located in the center of things and directly on The Freedom Trail. Although we`re locals, we couldn`t pass up this amazing deal and booked a weekend getaway in February this year in one of the luxurious 1 bedroom suites. We weren`t disappointed!
