We will be driving back to Logan airport on a Wednesday in July for our flight back home.
How long should this journey take ?
Is there somewhere nice to stop for lunch on our way to Logan that would then leave us with a short drive to the airport?
Chatham to logan
I would allow at least two hours. Plymouth would be nice for lunch.
I%26#39;m assuming that the stop for lunch is in addition to the time you are allowing for driving to the airport.

Also, make sure you%26#39;re not planning to drive into Boston and the Airport at rush hour, which is 3 to 6:30 PM or so. If you want a short drive to the Airport, park in South Boston on Northern Avenue. There are $9 lots there and you can walk to the Waterfront. Or if you want it really easy, have lunch at Anthony%26#39;s Pier 4 on Northern Avenue. They have FREE parking and beautiful views.
From either place, it%26#39;s 15 minutes or even less to the Airport, although I presume you have to turn in your rental car. Leave time for that.
I love Plymouth, especially for lunch, but I%26#39;d stop closer than Plymouth, just because the traffic is so unpredictable and I%26#39;m funny about planes. I%26#39;d rather play it safe.
Maybe get off the x-way in Braintree and eat at one of the restaurants at the South Shore Plaza, which is very close to the x-way.
Or, in Dorchester, there%26#39;s a place called Philips Old Colony that%26#39;s right next to the x-way too. Venezia in Dorchester is very very nice and it has a spectacular waterfront view of the city...it%26#39;s near Neponset Circle, in a tiny section called Port Norfolk.
Yes, as the previous poster suggested to you, the Venezia restaurant would be ideal and only about 20 minutes from Logan, if that. The cuisine is very very good here:
