looking where to stay on the Cape with young family?

We would like to vacation to the Cape for a long weekend in August this summer. Where would be the best part of the Cape to stay with kids that are 8 and 10 where there is easy access to things: rstaurants, beaches, mini golf, ice cream, bikes, etc...Location is key as well as a recommendation for a reasonable hotel/motel for a Thursday-Sunday. Any suggestions, please advise. It has been years since I vacationed there, and I don%26#39;t want to pick a part of the Cape that is too remote and not easy for us to get to things for a few days.

Thank you-

We spent years staying in hotels on the Cape and now rent private homes instead because they are more likely to be just like the website and it%26#39;s more economical. It%26#39;s hard to find one for less than a week but you might be able to cash in on someone else%26#39;s misfortune if they still haven%26#39;t had it rented. Try calling real estate people for suggestions.

As for where to stay, if you like ';busy'; then do the Hyannis/Yarmouth area which is filled with shopping and restuarants. It%26#39;s very built up and commercial though and not a true Cape experience.

For more beaches, small towns and atmosphere, try the Bay Side, Chatham, Orleans or Eastham to PTown.

From Eastham to Ptown, it is more remote but if you stay near Dennis, Sandwich, etc you can be in a nice area within a short drive to the mall.
