Manchester Utd game on Weds 9th May

Wonder if anyone can help? We arrive in Boston on Wednesday-my partner is a big United fan and would love to see the match if possible. He thinks one of the Irish bars might show it (but maybe he just wants to sample the Guinness!).

Does anyone know of somewhere that shows English soccer games? we%26#39;re staying in the Theatre District . Thanks!

Hi 2teds,

Pretty much any bar in the Brighton section of Boston will have that game on. Closer to your hotel I would say head to Champions in the MArriott Copley Place. Yeah, I know, it%26#39;s a tourist trap, but they have two things going for them: they serve beer and they have a million flat-screen tvs covering any and all sporting events.

Thanks for that Healey04. There seem to be 2 Marriott Copley Place hotels? 1 on Huntington Ave,the other on Exeter. Or are they the same?

The two hotels are the Marriott Copley Place, the one on Huntington Avenue, and the other is the Marriott Courtyard Copley Square on Exeter Street. They are actually almost around the corner from each other. You want the first one. Both nice hotels, by the way, and just to confuse you more, there are two additional Marriotts Downtown: The Long Wharf and the Custom House.

Thanks to you both-appreciate your help.

I%26#39;ve already read your replies to shopping queries,so I%26#39;ve got my Boston treat lined up too!!

Looking forward to getting to know Boston-it%26#39;s good to hear a %26#39;native%26#39;s%26#39; opinions

Cafe Paradiso in the North End on Hanover Street. About a 25 min. walk from where you are. Cute little place. They love their soccer. The guy behind the counter is a Chelsea fan so that adds incentive. There is a good regular crowd there and nice televisions. They serve some beer but no Guinness. Park yourself at the bar there and you%26#39;ll be sorted.

McGanns on Portland Street near the Boston Garden show games too but that%26#39;s lost a bit of its shine and the televisions are not the greatest in the world. Still good for a Guinness.

Lir is not bad either on Boylston Street.

Here%26#39;s a link to an additional venue finder. It has telephone numbers and distance from the theater district:

Many thanks for your help-will add this to my list. Cheers
