Absolutely Amazing Meal in Dennisport!!

After spending the last four years driving around the Cape and trying out as many restaurants as we could, we have come across one of our best dining experiences...Ocean House in Dennisport!!

Thanks to fellow forum advisors and a Zagat Guide we bypassed anything in Hyannis(don%26#39;t understand the appeal of this town but that is another topic) and headed down Depot Rd. We apologized for being walk-ins and were told we could eat in the bar....same amazing views..same menu.

Staff was friendly and attentive....giving us plenty of time in between courses to relax and enjoy the endless water view in all directions.

There was a spring special that included 3 courses for 25.00...a deal considering one normal entree was that or more. Portions were not small and the presentations were perfection. My husband had the Kobe beef lettuce wraps and salmon. I chose the Wedge salad and flat iron steak.....all were wonderful including desserts.

I%26#39;m sure the special is not offered in the summer season but, we definitely would get very full on the beef wraps alone and a martini!

The strange thing is we just got back from Paris and ate ourselves to death on all the fabulous cuisine including Le Grand Vefour.(one of the highest star rankings in Paris).......we liked our meal at Ocean House equally if not better!

Thanks for the recommendation. What other kinds of things are on the menu? (One of our sons became a vegan about a year ago, and it%26#39;s difficult to find places where all of us can find something we like.)

It%26#39;s so nice when someone finally takes me up on my suggestion to go to the Ocean House. (But bchbum may never have noticed my recommendation even.) We discovered it over a decade ago. The $25. pp 3-course meal is only a spring special so I%26#39;m really glad you could enjoy it.

Pastiche - would your son enjoy choices of individual gourmet pizzas along with imaginative salads? That%26#39;s if he won%26#39;t eat seafood of course.

We ate in the dining room once but go there now solely to eat several appetizers for our dinner so that we can try a few items. We always eat at one of the tables in the bar and, for some reason, there doesn%26#39;t seem to be much of a wait for them.

Some say that the bar is noisy (in high season) but we love the exuberance and fun-loving patrons so that doesn%26#39;t bother us and we like the fact that we don%26#39;t have to make reservations for the bar.

Come before sunset to enjoy the view from the large windows onto the Sound. Valet parking.

Thanks for the details! We might have to go the appetizer route with our son, unless they have cheese-less pizzas; he%26#39;s very strict %26amp; no longer eats eggs or dairy products of any kind. (Or maybe we%26#39;ll just leave him at home.)

The menu is on the web...and yes, CapeCod Charlie it was your suggestion that I remembered. Also, tried The Beacon in Orleans this visit...nice italian meal...good strawberry shortcake...comfy interior but view was of parking lot and it was about 20.00 more than Ocean House.
