after dinner?

June 7th (my birthday) 5 of us are having an italian dinner (7:45 reservations) in the North End then hopefully room for dessert at Modern. What to do after that?

Improv? What time do these comedy shows start on a Thursday night and how long do they last? Cost?

Music at the Boston Harbor Hotel?

Fiore%26#39;s for the patio? Do they have music?

Bay Tower Room for jazz?

Suggestions? Do all of the above have cover charges?

Our age range is late 30%26#39;s to 50%26#39;s and we are all pretty hip. Would rather no heavy metal music otherwise open to anything. Preferrably bars/lounges with no cover charges if possible and great music and ambiance. Also, 50 kinds of beer doesn%26#39;t matter to us and maybe a bunch of drunk 20 year olds wouldn%26#39;t appeal either. Thank you very much for any help.

Not what you wanted, but I can eliminate a couple of items from your list. The Bay Tower Room is no more - has been gone for many years now. And I believe the Boston Harbor Hotel only has music on Fridays.

Here are a couple of more to make up for these losses. The Top of the Hub has a jazz quartet most nights and the views are fabulous. Or if you what a dinner cruise with live music, try the Odyssey.
