We are new to the Boston area and will have relatives visiting end of July or early August. We would like to take them for a 3 day weekend to the cape and either Martha%26#39;s Vineyard or Nantucket. Where is the best place to stay on both the Cape for 1-2 nights and then MV or Nantucket for 1-2 nights? And which of the islands should we do??
My husband and I are in our late 20%26#39;s and will have my parents with us. We would enjoy places that are nice, but not overly expensive. Possibly places with suites to hold 4 people. Also enjoy places with cute shopping/dining options. Thanks!!
Cape and MV or Nantucket- where to stay??
Reality check: There are very few places (and I would guess none on Nantucket and MV) that will allow less than a 3, 4 or 5 night minimum in high season.
The good news is that there is more than enough to do and enjoy right on Cape Cod itself and, if you really must visit one of the islands then you could do a day trip.
Keep in mind your folks energy level for a full day trip.
Since you are going to be in the Boston area (and therefore visiting the Cape from time to time probably) and it is all new to you I highly recommend that you buy ($20) the best Cape guide book and that is An Explorer%26#39;s guide: Cape Cod, Martha%26#39;s Vineyard %26amp; Nantucket. I have the 6th edition but the the most up to date, the 7th, may be out by now. Author: Kim Grant.
Hope that helps you a bit in your planning.
