Cape Cod next Monday and Tuesday

We will be going to Cape Cod next Monday (the 21st) to spend the night and the following day before we catch the 6:15 ferry to The Vineyard.

I think we will just stay in the Upper Cape so we don%26#39;t try to do too much more than we are already trying to do.

Suggestions please on where best to go and to stay for the ';Cape Cod Experience'; for someone from California who has never been any further east than Nevada (unless you count London :-)

Thanks.

Will you have a car? Are you going from Hyannis or Falmouth/Woods Hole?

OOPS. Guess I did leave out a few important details.

Yes, we have a car. And we are leaving from Wood%26#39;s Hole.

Bring a jacket and pray that the weather gets better!

It is FREEZING---I exaggerate---it%26#39;s been wet, windy, and cold this week!

Ah well, the weather is what it will be so it will do me no good to worry about it. We will make the best of our holiday as we can.

I think that you will enjoy stayingin the Falmouth/ Wood%26#39;s Hole area.

Falmouth has a village green surrounded with historic houses and a pleasant little town with shops. The home of Katharine Lee Bates, who wrote America the Beautiful, is on Main St.

You could also drive over to Sandwich, a lovely village with a duck pond etc. Tour the Sandwich Glass Museum etc. Visit the Heritage Plantation with its beautiful Rhododendron gardens, some of which should be in bloom. Also the Thornton Burgess house, he wrote the Peter Rabbit books. Have lunch in the Dani%26#39;l Webster Inn.Walk on the Boardwalk out to the beach.

Hope this helps
