Cape Cod

Hi we%26#39;re in Easton %26amp; want to get to the Cape Cod area just on a day trip. We have a car but would consider a bus trip if it%26#39;s feasible?

Any idea how long the drive would take?

Where would be the best place to aim for?

We don%26#39;t want to go on the beach, just do some sight seeing of towns and beach areas.

Thanks all.

Cape Cod

From Easton, the trip to the Cape is short - maybe an hour to the middle of the Cape and another 35 or 45 minutes to go to the Outer Cape. However, do yourself a favor and don%26#39;t try this on a weekend. The traffic will kill you - and that could be BOTH ways if you time it just right.

The three top places to me would be The Cape Cod National Seashore (even if you%26#39;re not beach people, it is beautiful), Provincetown (no other place like it) and Route 6a (to get a true flavor of the Cape and see some nice shops, restaurants, etc.).

I%26#39;d take the car but just note AlanM%26#39;s caution about high-traffic times.

Thanks very much for your answers. We were in Boston today at the harbour and asked about the ferry over to Provincetown. It starts this Saturday so we are considering going that way. Is this a good option if we only want to explore Provincetown?

Also when we get off the boat are we in the thick of things or will we need to bus or walk to the town?

Thanks for all your help. it%26#39;s been invaluable. I must make a trip report next week!

Yes the ferry is a good way to go if you only want to explore Provincetown. The dock is right in the centre of the town. No bus, just a few steps and you%26#39;re there. Check to see if it%26#39;s the high speed ferry , much quicker than the regular ferry which is important if you are only going for the day.
