My husband and I are planning a trip to Boston with our two sons ages 9 and 13 this summer. We are not sure where to stay, we will be driving and have a car to park, we wouldn%26#39;t mind taking the public transportation into the city, as long as it doesn%26#39;t take over 30 min. We plan on doing the historical stuff along with some fun kid things. Any suggestions on Hotels and things that are must see and do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try the Midtown Hotel. It%26#39;s got reasonable rates, low-cost parking ($12/night) and has a pool. It%26#39;s located in the Back Bay, so it IS in the city, but you%26#39;d have to take the subway down to the Freedom Trail Area, etc. It IS walkable to Copley Square, the Charles River, MIT, even Fenway Park.

The hotels in Quincy/Braintree are just about 30 mins from downtown. If the midtown can give you better rates, then that%26#39;s more convenient...
There is a not so well known hotel located in Charlestown, right across from Boston and an easy (15 minute) walk to the downtown area called the Constitution Inn (http://www.constitutioninn.org/). Rates are reasonable and it%26#39;s right in the historic Navy Yard (USS Constitution). The duck tours are always a hit with kids..and Fenway Park would be a thrill for sports fans. Even if you don%26#39;t get tickets to the games, its great just to walk around during game time. There is also a show called Blue Man Group that usually you can get day-of-show, half price tickets for. The whole family would like that.
Have fun! There is always something to do here in the summer! Tons of stuff!
Thanks for all the info, I%26#39;m sure it will be a great help.
Hi,
The Hampton Inn, on O%26#39;Brien Hwy in Cambridge, has free parking, and it%26#39;s an easy walk to the Lechmere Green Line station, which will get you downtown in about 10 minutes or less.
