We%26#39;re flying in for a confernece and have a few hours next Friday afternoon before our flight at 6 p.m.
Any good bar with outdoor seating near the Hyatt Regency by the Common? Within walking distance would be great.
thx !!
good bar with outdoor seating by the Hyatt Regency
It%26#39;s 15 minute walk to the Fanueil Hall and Quincy Market area, which you can find innumerable bars with outdoor seating.
Just so you%26#39;re aware, this is a pet peeve of mine, but the Hyatt Regency by the Common isn%26#39;t by the Common. It%26#39;s actually about 3 blocks from there. Truth in advertising!!
good bar with outdoor seating by the Hyatt Regency
thx for info -
actually - there%26#39;s probably about 20 of us
and they want to keep the walking to a minimum.
Anything almost next door you%26#39;re aware of?
Hi,
Unfortunately, that Hyatt is not close to the nightlife areas. It%26#39;s on the edge of the Financial district and Downtown Crossing, which are both dead at night.
The closest bars would be either Felt, which is a nice pool hall/nightclub/restaurant, and it%26#39;s one block from your hotel. Or, you might try the Good Life bar on Kingston St., which is also only 1 block from your hotel. However, neither place has outdoor seating, and you won%26#39;t find that unless you are willing to walk to Quincy Market. You can ask the concierge to point you in the direction of either place.
Send the bags ahead to logan, take a cab to quincy market, have a few pops, and then take a water taxi to Logan.
The Transportation building is closer than Quincy Market (about a 10 min. walk)and it has restaurants with outdoors seating. Rock Bottom, California Pizza Kitchen and Tantric.
Tyrobob,
You think they can walk to The Transportation Building in less than 10 minutes?? I would venture to guess that it%26#39;s actually further than Quincy Market from Downtown Crossing............. and they were looking for a bar.
I agree that Quincy Market is best bet for OUTDOOR seating %26amp; lots of options for food %26amp; drink.
But if you decide to try a regular bar/restaurant I would recommend Silvertones Bar %26amp; Grill its a couple blocks away(5minute walk) on Bromfield St, good food and drinks. The area your hotel is in is the business distric so its not the patio seating type of area.
Get out your maps, everybody!
The Transportation Bldg is in the theater district and is definitely closer to the Hyatt Regency than is Quincy Market---no more than 10 mins walk away.
As noted, there are a handful of bars/restaurants with oudoor seating there, including Rock Bottom and P.F. Chang%26#39;s, around the corner on Charles St. My only concern would be whether these places can accomodate a large group outside. Maybe your concierge can check that out.
From your hotel, walk south on Washington St. When you reach Stuart St, hang a right and walk one short block to Tremont St. The Transportation Bldg is just across the street.
Another idea: as you walk along Stuart St, you will pass Jacob Wirth, an historic restaurant (c. 1868), serving German beer hall-type food and drink. They have a small outdoor patio. This would cut a few minutes from your walk.
Steve
Transportation Building is very close by, but I was thinking that people may prefer eating outside not next to cars %26amp; traffic. But if distance is an issue then the sidewalk seating of the transportation building would do. I do still recommend Quincy Market, a place like Salty Dog where the people watching is a little bit more exciting.
