How to get from Hyatt Regency to Westin Waterfront daily?

My husband will be attending a conference this July at the Westin Waterfront, and he will be staying at the Hyatt Regency. It will be his first time in Boston and we are trying to determine what will be the best/most affordable method of transportation between the two hotels for him daily. Is it walkable at all? We looked at a map and it didn%26#39;t appear to be, but any advice from the experts would be greatly appreciated!

It IS walkable, but the issue is that Westin Waterfront is in an old manufacturing type area in South Boston (not Downtown) and you have to walk for 10 or 15 minutes before you reach ';civilization';, which in this case is South Station. The total walking time between the two hotels is probably 25 minutes or so. You turn left out of the Westin onto Summer Street, then past South Station and into Downtown. Take a left at Macy%26#39;s and you%26#39;ll come to the Hyatt.

During the day, this is no problem. At night, the area isn%26#39;t unsafe , per se, but it gets rather desolate, particularly the area between South Station and the Westin.

There is a Silver Line Station on the overhead road heading towards the World Trade Center that you can use to get to South Station, if you so desire.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

If you are talking about the Hyatt in downtown Boston, near Downtown Crossing, the best bet is to walk to South Station and pick up the Silver Line there, to the World Trade Center stop, and walk over to the Westin. It%26#39;s not the most convenient thing, but it will be cheaper than a taxi, which is your next best alternative.

Hi,

Take the #7 bus. It%26#39;s about a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the starting point for the #7 bus route which is at the corner of Summer and Otis Sts. He can either obtain a ';stored value'; Charlie Ticket at nearby South Station and pay $1.25 a ride or pay cash as he boards the bus and pay $1.50 a ride. It%26#39;s a 10 minute ride to the hotel. The #7 bus stops less than a hundred yards from the Westin.
