My hubby and I will be up for a long weekend in July to attend the new Edward Hopper exhibit at the MFA. I understand that admission is over $20 now per person for the museum. Any places to get discount tix or offers?
Thanks!
Melissa
MFA Discounts?
Don%26#39;t think there are any deals for special exhibitions. You might look in to a membership -- they generally price an annual membership (which comes with a couple of tickets to special exhibitions) at about the price you%26#39;d have paid for the Hopper exhibit.
If you%26#39;re nightowls, book about the second-to-last entry time to the exhibit. People tend to walk through quickly, and you get the place to yourselves around closing time. (
MFA Discounts?
They have college discounts and I believe Wednesday night is their free night but you might check their web site. They may have educator discounts (if you%26#39;re a teacher), but I%26#39;m not sure. The special exhibits are typically a separate charge from the regular admission fee.
Thanks everyone...
My husband and I are teachers, but looking on their website it looked like there were no teacher discounts. I will definitely give them a call... it can%26#39;t hurt to ask. Is the Special Exhibition price of $23 in addition to admission the the museum, or does it include that too?
Melissa
I think giving them a call is your best bet. I believe you do have to pay an admission fee as well as an additional fee for special exhibits such as the Hopper one. I teach in Mass. and do not get a discount so my guess is you are not eligible either. Let us know what you find out.
