Hi guys,
My husband and I cannot decide whether to visit New York or Boston before heading to Martha%26#39;s Vineyard in September.
It looks like Boston is the easiest route but does anyone have any experience of travelling from New York (my husband would love to visit NY)?
I would appreciate any help, opinions etc.
Thanks as usual
Lu
New York or Boston to Martha's Vineyard?
The beginning of the Cape is 4 hours from NYC, 1 hour from Boston. But I sense you want to visit Boston and he wants to go to NYC. Good luck on that! Anyway, Boston is very different from New York in many ways and most people really enjoy visiting. If you%26#39;ve both been to NYC, which I assume is so, wouldn%26#39;t you want to see something else, too? Just a thought..........
New York or Boston to Martha's Vineyard?
Alanm - your post made me laugh, it would appear you are a mindreader!
Yes I would love to visit Boston and him to New York - I have suggested going seperately but didn%26#39;t go down well : )
Actually neither of us have visited either city so both would be wonderful to visit.
I am dead set on Martha%26#39;s Vineyard so its whether to add this to New York and leave Boston till next year with a thorough New England visit in the fall?
However my research suggests MV is alot easier to reach from Boston.
Arrrgghh!

By the way, you didn%26#39;t say how long you were planning to stay. It IS possible to do BOTH cities. If you 2 or 3 days in each city, you%26#39;d be able to enjoy and compare them. That would give you something to discuss on the way home. It%26#39;s a 4 hour drive, so for peace and harmony, that%26#39;s not much of a sacrifice. Or is it?
AlanM
Our initial feeling was that we didn%26#39;t want to drive.
However Boston and New York is a good suggestion thanks :)
Maybe fly into NY - take a bus to MV - and then a bus back to Boston and fly out of there. Thanks for your help Alan, I shall get working on that idea!
We have 2 weeks to travel so I suppose this is enough time to do all 3.
Not really sure how long to allocate for Martha%26#39;s Vineyard - we would like some relaxation time but I%26#39;m not sure if 4 nights is too long?
Not that I want to confuse things even more, but you also have the option of flying into MV from either NYC or Boston. And there are rail links between Boston %26amp; NYC as well.
