We%26#39;ve never been to Boston let alone a Sox game and are going in June with hopes to see a Sox game. Tickets are sold out -- been checknig around at different options and came across (on this site) ';StubHub';.
This site looks fantastic and rates are reasonable -- can anyone give some honest feedback about this site and whether or not this would be a safe way to purchase tickets -- how%26#39;s their reputation?
My husband is currently serving with the Canadian army in Afghanistan and I%26#39;d LOVE to surprise him with Sox tickets for our stop in Boston on our way to Orlando.... so doing this by myself is a little intimidating so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
What's the safest way to get sold out Sox tickets??
Jesyka,
Finding Red Sox Tickets can be a real challenge!! But well worth it if you get to a game. My advice would be: be careful!! There%26#39;s been a crack down here lately on scalpers...I don%26#39;t know anything about that particular website. I do know that you can usually get tickets at the game on the day of OR you might try Craigstlist. www.craigslist.org
They sometimes have people trying to sell Sox Tickets.
Good luck!!

What's the safest way to get sold out Sox tickets??
Thank you :)
I%26#39;m going to try craigslist...and thanks for the scalpers warning -- I don%26#39;t think I want to take that kind of risk..
StubHub has been very reliable. Haven%26#39;t heard about any issues with them.
I have had good experiences with StubHub -- not for Sox tickets, but other sold out events. I think they%26#39;d be more reliable than going on Craigslist, since craigslist is just individuals posting.
Stubhub gives you a ';guarantee'; and a number to call if you show up and can%26#39;t get in. Stubhub actually is owned in whole or in part by ebay, if you can believe that. So it%26#39;s pretty reputable. I think of all the scalping sites, it%26#39;s the safest and gives you the most options.
Craigslist is a free classified ad service, so there%26#39;s really no way to be sure the tickets are legitimate until you get to the ball park. If you buy tickets this way, and don%26#39;t know your seller, the one piece of advice I can give is to be very cautious with ';print at home'; tickets. These are tickets that people can buy and print at their computer. An unscrupulous scalper could make dozens of copies and sell them all. Once the tickets are scanned in at the park, any other holders with duplicates will be denied admission. If you do buy print at home tickets from an unknown source, go to the park early and get in. Even if you do that, you still are at risk of getting booted if the real purchaser of the tickets shows up and the tickets you are holding are counterfeit (although the Sox may in that circumstance use discretion to reseat you if possible and if you pay for your new seat).
The safest way to buy tickets is to join red sox replay, which gives you access to face value season ticket holder tickets that they don%26#39;t want. Go to redsox.com and you can find it. It%26#39;s typically the most expensive premium seats at the park.
Stub hub is good, but I do not find any site for sox tickets that I would call reasonable. I would also try cheappricedtickets.com. This and other web sites seem to be clearing houses for many ';ticket agencies'; across the nation. I have used it several times and always received tickets from different sources.
have you tried redsox.com? depend on who they%26#39;re playing, there MIGHT be tickets available. I am going June 30 to see them play the Texas Rangers...I am from Dallas and going to Boston just for Fenway.
Good luck. If not thru redsox...i would go stubhub, too.
red sox replay:
replay.tickets.com/buy/TicketResaleServlet鈥?/a>
and stub hub are safe bets.
Good luck!
Old post- but new info:
There is a special deal for active duty military that the Red Sox don%26#39;t advertise. They release a limited number standing room only tickets for active-duty military at Gate B of Fenway 2 hours before the game. You have to line up in advance b/c of the limited number. It%26#39;s $7/ticket and you can only buy 2 tickets per active duty military ID.
Now since your husband is with the Canadian Army I would call the Sox (877-REDSOX9)
to verify that he is eligible, but I would hope given the circumstances they%26#39;d be happy to help.
Good luck, and thank you to your husband for his service!
