Coming from Connecticut for a day in Boston next Friday the 1st. We want to get in early to take the tour of Fenway before it gets too crazy! What station is closest to the park? We are then going to Quincy Market and other stuff afterwards. Thanks!
Amtrak-which stop to use?
There are only two Amtrak stations from the south: South Station and Back Bay Station. Back Bay Station is the closest to Fenway. You can either take the ';T'; Green line from Copley or walk it in about half an hour.

Is there a ';T'; stop at the train station?
Yes, but it%26#39;s not the Green Line. It%26#39;s only a couple of blocks to the Copley Square Green Line Station. If you took the Orange Line from Back Bay Station, you would have to go backwards all the way to Haymarket Station to connect with the Green Line. See mbta.com for a system map. Walking the two blocks is a lot faster.
Thank you very much!!
Be aware that the last tour starts at 4pm and on game days, the last tour is abbreviated (shortened by about half). Try to make the 2pm or 3pm tour if at all possible.
We are actually going to get the tour in the morning. They start at 9, so we are trying for 10. Our train will arrive just before 9 so we should have enough time to get there for then. I want to shop and explore for the rest of the day!
