Bicycling and disc golf

I%26#39;ll be in Boston for a week in June. Plan to rent bikes at least one day. Other than the path up and down the Charles River, are there good bike rides in the city?

Any Disc Golf courses? I don%26#39;t see anything in the PDGA website, but I%26#39;m hoping something is out there.

Any other ideas for outdoor activities in the city, other than just wandering around, which I plan to do plenty of?

Check out the Boston Harborwalk. The part from Castle Island to Milton is very nice.

You can also try hiking the Blue Hills, which are just south of Boston. A Randolph bus out of Ashmont or a Randolph via Plaza bus out of Quincy Center can get you to trail heads, though a car would be much better.

I commute to work every day on my bicycle. I don%26#39;t do it for the exercise, and I%26#39;d like to say I do it because I%26#39;m ';green'; and I%26#39;m helping the environment. No. I do it because it provides me a shot of adrenaline that I can%26#39;t get from a cup of coffee or from riding the T(I%26#39;m anti-MBTA. Not the actual T, but the higher-ups that continue to raise my fares, while also raising their own pensions. That%26#39;s another rant for another day).

For a tourist, this is an inexpensive, and efficient way to see the city. Grab a good map and off you go! The streets of Boston are littereds with cyclists. So much so that drivers are very cognizant and will usually allow you one or two feet to safely pass. So don%26#39;t look for trails, you can make your ride as fun and interesting as you want it to be. The Charles trail is nice but more of a leisurely ride.

No luck on the disc golf. You%26#39;ll have to travel well outside the city for that.
