Transportation from Boston to Clark U.: is it possible to leave on train(?) in a.m., visit the college, and return to Boston in the evening?
Spending a couple days visiting colleges. The plan is to see Clark on Monday, Boston U. %26amp; Boston College on Tuesday, and Tufts on Wednesday. Flying out Wednesday afternoon. Wondering if it%26#39;s possible to achieve without car rental but using public trans. instead?
Also, hotel recommendations, best areas to look for one based on above info.?
Thanks for any assistance.
Boston to Worcester (Clark U)There is a commuter rail from Boston to Worcester. You can get on at either Back Bay or South Station. Go to mbta.com, click on commuter rail and then the Worcester Line.
All three of the other colleges are on or near the ';T';. Both BU and BC are on the Green Line and Tufts is near the Red Line (the closest station is Davis Square).
For Hotels, scine you are using the ';T'; for everything and several different lines, there are plusses and minuses to most locations. . One that foots the bill nicely is the Omni Parker House. Near Park Street, which has the both the Red and Green Lines, and is walkable from South Station.
Boston to Worcester (Clark U)My daughter is a Clarkie. Yes you can do this all in one day. Take train to Worcester, call Red Cab, they%26#39;ll take you to Clark. My student says it costs between $8 to $10 for the cab.
B.U. and B.C. are easily accessed by the green line while Tufts can be reached by taking the red line to Davis Square.
So to answer your question, it is possible to achieve. What time of year are you coming?
Go to MBTA.com for the schedule. I would suggest you to come over the weekday because the train runs more often. You should plan to take the 7 am train. it will leaves you plenty of time to explore the colleges in Worcester. There is a train leaves the station at 5:30pm, and at around 8pm. You can call cabs at the Union station.
I go to WPI and travel between Worcester and Boston all the time. Clark is 10 mins away from WPI, let me know if you have more questions.
