Could you please recommend hotels that would be a good base for enjoying the 4th of July festivities.
Better yet, are there any hotels where I can enjoy the fireworks from the privacy of our room?
Hotel near FireworksCall the Hyatt in Cambridge and ask---they%26#39;re down the river a bit. They probably have rooftop viewing. That%26#39;s one option.
In terms of hotels that would be close, anything in Copley Square would be a few blocks (or 1 t-stop) away. The Holiday Inn on Cambridge Street in boston is probably the closest to the Esplanade.
The Ritz and 4 Seasons are close too. The Ritz is still there, right? (I';m not a regular :-) )
Hotel near FireworksIf you want to watch from your room, you need to ask for specific rooms at the taller hotels overlooking the river, like the Sheraton Boston and Hilton Back Bay. Otherwise, you can walk from most any hotel in the Downtown Area or BackBay.
Hi,
try the Holiday Inn-Select-Government Center. About a 15 minute walk to the Hatch Shell. Request a room facing the Charles and you could get lucky. Ask them about it--I%26#39;m certain it%26#39;s a popular request that time of year. Also, try the John Jeffries House. A B%26amp;B style hotel located right in the Longfellow Circle area of Beacon Hill. A short walk over a footbridge and you%26#39;re on the Charles River. Visit them at johnjeffries.com.
My now 8 year old son and I stayed at the Sheraton, Boston last year. We had a river view room on the top floor. It was geat! We turned the TV on so that we could listen to the concert and then draped towels over the TV so that we could enjoy the fireworks. We are already booked for this year and my husband, the homebody will be joining us.
I have stayed at the Back Bay Hilton and wouldn%26#39;t recommend it. Their river view roms are few and far between.
If you can%26#39;t get the Sheraton, try the Westin at Copley. If you can get a river view room on a high floor, you will have a great view. Also, the restaurants and room service at this Westin are great .
Hope that I%26#39;ve helped!
The Sonesta on the Cambridge side of the river would be a great spot if they aren%26#39;t already sold out. It is as close as you could possibly get without pitching a tent on the Esplanade.
