Friday evening is equivilent to Saturday morning. If you REALLY want to avoid the traffic, leave at 6 or 7 or so in the morning Saturday. The traffic builds after 8. Should take about 2 hours to Eastham without traffic.

Did you see the message I posted for you a few days ago?

no. i did not. i suppose i did not recieve the email, or perhaps i forgot to check box about email. can you send it again, if you dont mind. also,, i just started to have second thoughts about our cottage in eastham. i like a little more commerce, liking walking for ice cream or coffee. should we try wellfleet.

I posted it on this forum, not an email. Go back to May 17, it%26#39;s titled ';Message for Mikay';.

I go to the cape on a regular basis all year round on Friday night, usually leaving Boston at the height of the rush hour. The problem is getting out of Boston. Traffic on the Southeast Expressway can be extremely slow. If you leave after the rush hour (maybe 7pm) you should have a fairly easy ride. Once out of Boston it should be smooth sailing. Last October, a major bottleneck traffic rotary at the Sagamore Bridge onto the cape was eliminated. Except right when the new road was opened, there has never been a backup at the bridge. Before, there could be a mile or more traffic jam. I can%26#39;t speak to Saturday, but Friday late enough to avoid the Boston rush hour should work fine. The new road configuration has never had to carry summer traffic and there may be a few problems early in the season with drivers unfamiliar with it, but I%26#39;m sure it will still be an improvement over the old roadway. Boston to Eastham should be a little over 2 hours.

...to Wellfleet, add 10 minutes, to Provincetown add half an hour.
