Waterfront Dining

Hello all,

I need to know of some quality resturants on or near the waterfront of the Boston Harbor. I am hosting an event that needs to be accesible by water taxi at the Seaport hotel. I looked at the Barking Crab, but it seemed a touch too casual due to the group seating. The most important aspect of the place is that it have a private dining room. We have no limit on budget, but wanted to keep it casual as a theme.

I also looked into Tavern on the Water and Union Oyster House, but both seemed to have mixed reviews.

Let me know! Thank you all!

Hi,

The Tavern on the Water is not really the place you want to be, unless you%26#39;ll be wearing shorts and flip-flops. Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon, but not the place to host an event, and they don%26#39;t have a private dining room. So...

let%26#39;s class it up a bit. How about Joe%26#39;s Bar and Grille on Atlantic Ave. Certainly accessible by water taxi via Long Wharf. They have a banquet room at that location but you%26#39;ll need at least 30 people to rent it. Give the banquet manager a call if you%26#39;re interested at

(617) 557-6063. Cheers.

Pier 4 is a possibility, but it%26#39;s anything but casual. How about the Daily Catch at the Moakley Courthouse?? It%26#39;s small, but I do know that they close the restaurant for private parties.

Sel de la Terre restaurant might be what you%26#39;re looking for. It is near the Aquarium and convenient to water taxis. They do private functions. It is a very nice restaurant but, not formal or stuffy.

I%26#39;m sure the Rowes Wharf Hotel could do a function for you if budget is not a concern. It has a water taxi station, but it is an elegant hotel and may not be casual enough for you.
