Hotel Dirt

Okay, I%26#39;m booking tonight and I wanted to put the feelers out one more time...

What hotel pops into your mind if you were to mention one thats the most conveniently located to some of Boston%26#39;s finest attractions, beautiful views, decent sized rooms, good service, also close to good restaurants and shopping, not way overpriced(Ritz). If I were to ask you those questions, and ask for you to tell me what is the best hotel in boston according to bang for your buck, what would you say without thinking?

Hotel Dirt

Boston Harbour Hotel or the Marriott Custon House.

Hotel Dirt

Sorry typo Custom House.

Yes to both of those and I%26#39;d also add the Marriott Long Wharf

Hi,

I like the way you phrased that question. Here are my suggestions:

1. The Omni Parker House. Lots of history, great location, and great rates.

2. The Charlesmark: Doesn%26#39;t get a lot publicity on this site, but it%26#39;s slowly earning a great reputation. Keep in mind--it%26#39;s a ';boutique'; hotel. What that means really? Smaller rooms, hipper decor. The location is phenomenal--right on Boylston in BAck Bay.

3. Holiday Inn Select-Government Center: My darkhorse favorite among Boston hotels. It%26#39;s located in Beacon Hill and it%26#39;s walking distance to just about every attraction in the city. Not to mention inexpensive. There%26#39;s lots of bars and restaurants in the area, and the T is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. It actually sits on the cusp of the MAss General campus, so the sirens will make you feel at home.

I thank all you guys very much for your help. I got a good price on a double bed on Veneere.com and contacted Jurys and they matched it for a queen size. Couldn%26#39;t pass it up, and my wife was pushing for it so I didn%26#39;t have much of an option anyways. So... How%26#39;s Jurys?

Jury%26#39;s is a very well-rated hotel located in the Back Bay near Copley Square. You did well. Want to share the rate you paid??

$260 per night, but it seemed that this particular weekend was more expensive than the others, due to the Yankees being in town, so I felt it was comparably fair. Is there a website with a detailed map of landmarks within walking distance, or a restaurant map? Or a public transportation map? I%26#39;m going through now I can%26#39;t seem to find one thats any good.

Hi,

Google maps has a pretty detailed map of Boston complete with many, but not all, attractions. But if you can get an address and you have a comprehensive map, you%26#39;re all set.

For the best map of public transportation look no further than mbta.com. They have a great map of the subway system, complete with addresses of T stops. The T, by the way, is what we call the subway.

Nonetheless, I think Jury%26#39;s at that price is worth it. As for restaurants, the best steakhouse in Boston, in my opinion, is Grill 23, and it%26#39;s located around the corner from Jury%26#39;s.

When you arrive, ask at the hotel (which is very nice, by the way) for a Trolley Tour map. They%26#39;re free and actually the easiest to find things.
