I grew up in Brewster. I never truly appreciated it until I moved away. My parents still live there, so I%26#39;m able to get down pretty frequently....
If anyone has any questions, I%26#39;d be happy to help.

My wife and I are heading your way for a few days. We are staying at a friend%26#39;s house so we expect we will eat out for dinner. S,M,T
Can you recommend,
Your choice for seafood rest
Steaks
and your favorite place to dine out.
I try not to eat seafood fried so if you can us clear of fried seafood that would be great, unless of course..it is a must have
Budget is probably 30 per entree.
Thanks for your help

My husband and I are traveling to Cape Cod in September, we are debating where to stay, is the Ocen Edge nice? Any other place you highly recommend to stay, we%26#39;d prefer a luxury place, and I don%26#39;t say that to be snobby, we just want a nice place. Let me know your thoughts, thanks.
Please, please do not book there. We just returned from what was supposed to be a three night vacation. We left early because we were so disappointed. The room they gave us was a 1.5 away from the resort (and on the other side of the street) so it was no where near the water. I%26#39;ve met a few people now who have had the same experience. The room was old and musty and reminded me of a DoubleTree or Embassy Suites hotel room.
I forgot to say, I would recommend the Chatham Bars Inn. Chatham is such a great town and I%26#39;ve heard only amazing things about this resort.
Thanks for your input, after reading about your recommendation, it looks like a wonderful inn. The only thing is that it might be sold out for the weekends we are looking, any other nice places on Cape Cod or Nantucket?
marymellon on a previous posts suggests the Hawthorne Inn in Chatham. She says it has a website or check it our on tripadvisor.
Hi IÃôm thinking of staying in Brewster with people who have never been to the cape or the US for that matter. Is Brewster cute and quaint in the cape cod way? We are also thinking of staying in East Orleans which town is more cute Brewster or East orleans?
Thank you Sundari
Hi Ammasome,
My preference would be to stay in East Orleans and take a half -day meander down Rt. 6A (Old Kings Highway) through Brewster, to browse the many little antique and craft shops and see the quant architecture. In East Orleans you will be closer to the ocean (Nauset Beach) and to the center of town of Orleans. East Orleans is like a small village with quant homes, a few shops and not too much traffic. Brewster is a bit busier since it has Rt. 6A going through it. Cape Cod is rather compact so you will not be far from quant anywhere on the outer cape. If you venture into the mid-cape area, you will quickly get commercial and lose the flavor of old Cape Cod. Have you considered staying in one of the less commercial areas of the Cape? From Eastham to Provincetown, the National Seashore has preserved much of the land on the ocean side of the cape and prevented commercial/new residental developement. So if you want something really authentic, not just Walt Disney cute, look at staying in Eastam, Wellfleet or Truro. Let me know if you want any suggestions for those towns.
