Duck Tour-Tix in advance?

My mom and I are going to Boston the 3rd week of June. We are planning on going on the Duck Tour. I was wondering if it was necessary to get tickets in advance (before we leave). Also, what is the best time of the day to go? We are both early risers, so I was thinking that the first tour (9:00 a.m.) would work for us. Thanks.

On two consecutive visits I tried to get tickets, no luck. You have to go to that high-rise mall to purchase tickets at their booth, which sell out early, and also to board there.

Except for going in the water briefly, I would recommend Old Town Trolleys, or one of the others. You can purchase tickets at your hotel or shops around town, and board and deboard at all their stops around town, using your pass all day. I bought a two-day trolley pass, and used it to go everywhere, saving several cab fares. The Duck Tour is a set length of time with no stops.

I don%26#39;t know how often they sell out, but if it is a weekend and the weather is nice, I would guess it%26#39;s a sure bet they will. I went 2 years ago in November on a nice day and we got the last two tickets! It is a very popular tour. BTW... I bought mine from a booth in the round center hall at Quincy Market... not at the Prudential Center.

The Duck Tour is fun and quirky (or is that quacky?) !

oh yes,, I forgot. they have a ticket booth in the market. Then where did you go to board?

You can also buy the tickets online 2 weeks prior, which is what I would recommend. I think anytime is really fine to go ...
