Wrentham

Hi

We are 4 Brits visiting Wrentham by taxi (from Copley Place)

Any idea best time to go, how long it will take, how much would that cost roughly?

Thanks

Lesley

Here%26#39;s a website that may help... assuming your destination is the outlet mall...

Wrentham

Hello Lesnig,

I%26#39;m pretty sure it%26#39;s $4 a mile some one said on this forum before? It%26#39;s pretty high now. It used to be great years ago, but forget it now a days, for a long distance like that!

If you go to thiir site:

http://www.premiumoutlets.com

Click on Directions/Transportation and it%26#39;ll list the telephone #%26#39;s and mode of transportation suggested. They have the Grey Line Bus company offered and there number is right there online. Try one of these other ways of getting there to save yourselves some $$$ so you can spend it at the Outlets instead!

Have fun!

Don%26#39;t know what the particulars are, or whether driving on an International license would cause a headache, but perhaps renting a car through Zipcar would keep costs down? I think the rental price is $8.50 per hour and includes gas. Taking a taxi all the way to Wrentham seems wildly expensive.

Check out the website or give them a call....http://www.zipcar.com

Try Back Bay Coaches. I went to Wrentham with them last year and from memory it cost about $30/$40 return. They pick-up from all the major hotels. Check with the concierge (don%26#39;t think I spelt that right!!) at your hotel and they will book/organise it for you. We went in a small minibus (approx 12 people) and the driver was great - he even delayed pick-up that evening by 2 hours so that we could reach the max on our credit cards!!!

I think it took about 1 hour to get there.

We were there the weekend after Thanksgiving last year and waited until the Monday to travel out to it. I know from speaking to other guests in our hotel that it was mental over the weekend - so perhaps if you have a weekday available it would be more beneficial. It was certainly very quiet the day we went - as it appeared all the Americans had returned to work after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Wouldn%26#39;t recommend taxi - as I imagine it would cost a complete fortune (and just think of all the lovely bits you could buy with the money!!)

Hope that helps and happy shopping.....!!

(PS - When you go with Back Bay Coaches you get a discount book on arrival which can offer even better savings)

Hi Lesnig,

We are going to Wrentham on the Monday after Thanksgiving and have hired a car for the day as the coach companies only stay there for 5 hours - no good for me!!! Also we thought it would be more convienient in terms of taking stuff back to the car and also stopping on the way if we wanted to.

I booked with a company called www.auto-europe.co.uk and got a car for £28. I am picking up the car from Alamo at the airport (this is the only depot that is open until late for us to drop the car back the same night rather than incur huge Boston parking fees!!)at 7.00am and taking it back for 9.00pm (should just about be enough shopping time)The £28 deal includes all the petrol, up to 3 additional drivers and unlimited mileage which after checking other companies is really good (especially the petrol bit as most give you the car full and charge you for what you use at an extortionate rate!!)

Hope that helps!

Sarah

Thanks everyone-that%26#39;s really helpful-looking forward to our trip!

Lesnig
