Nicest, closest hotel to the xcel energy center

We are looking for the closest hotel to the xcel energy center. Are there any within walking distance? Also which is the nicest. thanks. PS how far would they be from the airport and the mall of america.??

Here are the three I would suggest:

There is a Holiday Inn across the street from the north entrence, about a one minute walk.

Probably the nicest hotel in St. Paul is The St. Paul Hotel, it%26#39;s across Rice Park from the east entrence to the Xcel Center, about a two minute walk.

The Crown Plaza is about 4-5 blocks from the Xcel, about a 5-7 minute walk.

From DT St. Paul to the airport and MOM is about 20-25 mintes via car.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn a couple of years ago and it was a nice moderate hotel. Good location and easy to get to.

Any of those hotels listed are withing walking distance to the hotel but the Holiday is nice because it is by some nice bars and resturants. The mall of america is 1-2 miles from the airport so the same distance.

I love the St Paul hotel.... don%26#39;t know how expensive it is nowadays...but it is in close proximity to the Excel.

I would second some recommendations:

Holiday Inn - stayed here before and really enjoyed it. Great location, good prices and The Liffey tavern downstairs is a great place to hang out.

St Paul Hotel - this is a great splurge, and it%26#39;s bar %26amp; restaurant are not to be missed if you stay there.
