Not a lot of trip reports are done on some of these forums, but I want to touch the highlights of our visit to Lanesboro in late September, 2008:
Commonwealtheatre - An absolute hidden jewel in Lanesboro. We saw ';Harvey'; . . . great play . . . VERY nicely done. It%26#39;s worth the trip to Lanesboro just to take in a play!
Root River Restaurant - Excellent food and a nice atmosphere, especially if the weather%26#39;s nice and you can eat outdoors. DO get reservations, especially on weekends. Our hostess was a bit ';snooty'; . . . but the rest of the evening was lovely.
Shopping - nice variety of ';touristy'; type shops.
If you%26#39;re looking to stop for a drink, stop at the watering hole on the main street (sorry . . . don%26#39;t remember the name). The Saloon (off on a side street) is more of a ';locals'; hangout.
The area around Lanesboro is beautiful . . . lovely drive!
