Freedom Trail on a Sunday

Hi folks. I have several days to play around Boston in August and I%26#39;m trying to figure out the best day to walk the Freedom Trail. I have Friday, Sunday, or Monday.

I%26#39;m thinking Sunday would have the least traffic and business congestion, but I wonder if anything would be closed on Sunday or if there is anything I might miss on that day.

Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

You are right, in that Sunday IS the day with the least traffic and business congestion. Aside from the idea that some people LIKE those things, the biggest downside is that many places don%26#39;t open until noon on Sundays. And to make up for opening late, they close early!! Like at 6 PM. If the big deal is less congestion and traffic and you don%26#39;t have to worry about emphasizing shopping, then it%26#39;s a reasonable choice timewise.

The other side of the coin is that you%26#39;ll end up doing SOMETHING on Sunday, so it may as well be that.

Thanks. I don%26#39;t care about shopping, but I don%26#39;t want any attractions closed. Of course, having places to eat and a little street ambiance would be nice...but I would rather dodge crowds.

If you want some space on the Freedom Trail tour, go in the morning on Sundays. Tours are busier in the afternoons on Sunday (generally anyway). Will also be more traffic in the city on Sunday due to red Sox traffic.

You don%26#39;t have to worry about Red Sox traffic in the Downtown and Waterfront Areas, which would encompass all of the Freedom Trail. Fenway Park is on the other side of town.

It may see odd, but most of the Freedom Trail stops follow pretty normal business hours on the weekend opening at 9 or 10 and closing around 5. Old South Meeting House, The Old State House, Paul Revere%26#39;s House, Old North Church, and Bunker Hill are all open for most of the day every day.

Kings Chapel has some funny hours and the last guided tour of the Constitution starts at 3:30, but besides those two exceptions you should be able to see most sites if you visit on Sunday.
